Yochai Eisenberg, MUPP, is currently the principal investigator for a CDC funded study to Develop a Community Health Inclusion Index for measuring how well communities support healthy, active living for persons with disabilities. He is a Co-Investigator on a study with the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago to analyze community participation and travel patterns among persons with amputations using GPS data recorders. At the Center on Health Promotion Research for Persons with Disabilities, Yochai has served as a project coordinator for an NIH R01 grant (2005-2011) to create a health empowerment zone to address built and programmatic barriers to physical activity and healthy eating in urban neighborhoods and aimed at reducing obesity for persons with disabilities. He teaches graduate classes on geographic information systems in the Urban Planning Department at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Yochai has presented on assessing the relationship of community accessibility and public health for persons with disabilities.
